The Bible is a unique book. There is simply no other book like it in all the world. Of the innumerable volumes that have been printed throughout man's history, none can begin to compare to the Bible. The word "unique" carries with it the idea of being "one of a kind," or "unequaled." The Bible is precisely that. It is unequaled in all of literature. It is unique in that it is the very word of God to man. It is unique in the way that it has survived through the centuries, as well as in the way it has been transmitted to man. Also, it is unique in its teaching and influence.

Despite the fact that death daily confronts us in the news, and from time to time in our personal lives, most people do not like to think about death, especially their own. Thinking about the death of someone reported in the newspapers is very different from thinking about one's own death. Thoughts of one's own death produce questions that demand answers. What is death? How will I face death? Will I live again after I die? The confusion and fear created by these questions make death a topic that people would rather not discuss.

Can We Trust the Bible to be True? |

How does one determine the validity of biblical narrative? Like testimony given in a courtroom, statements asserted as fact within the scriptures are subject to critical examination -- they can be weighed, tested, and compared to that which has been proved true. To determine Bible authenticity, one can examine internal evidences (ie., those evidences derived from the Bible text itself) and external evidences (ie., those evidences derived by comparing the Bible without outside sources).
